Costa de la Luz

The “Costa de la Luz” covers the western part of the Andalucía coastline that faces out to the Atlantic ocean, stretching from the Portuguese border to the far west across to Cadiz to the Far East.
This expansive coastline covers 261KM of some of the most unspoilt Spanish coastline, offering golden sandy beaches washed by clear blue seas, dramatic sand dunes, stunning pine trees and countryside dotted with traditional white washed villages.

The area is popular with holidaymakers from some of the more prosperous Spanish cities such as Seville, Jerez and Madrid – and has retained it´s traditional Spanish charm.  In recent years however, there has been a large influx of tourism from Northern Europeans, generally appealing to the more discerning holiday maker who prefers to holiday away from the more built up Spanish resorts on the Costa Blanca and the Costa del Sol.

Often likened to Southern Portugal, the Costa de la Luz offers a magnitude of high standard golf resorts and courses which encourage tourism throughout the year. You will find 14 courses on this coastline of Spain with a further 9 planned resorts.

The Costa de la Luz has an excellent infrastructure and is easily accessible from Faro, Seville, Jerez and Gibraltar airports – providing regular daily low cost flights from all European destinations. In addition to air transport, the coastline enjoys one of the best road networks in Southern Spain and the most westerly towns are within a stone’s throw of Portugal with direct access via the Guadiana International Bridge.
